At Villa Azzuro, we value your privacy as much as your comfort. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website and in connection with your stay, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Greek law.

1. Who We Are (Data Controller)

The controller of your personal data is: Villa Azzuro, Faragas, Aliki, 84400 Paros, Cyclades, Greece 

 

2. What Data We Collect

When you send an enquiry or booking request: your name, email address, telephone number, preferred dates, number of guests, and any information you choose to include in your message.

When you confirm a reservation: billing details necessary for payment [and, where required, payment confirmation details full card data is never stored by us], plus any preferences you share with us (e.g. arrival time, requests such as a baby cot).

Upon arrival: identification details (name, nationality, ID/passport number) which we are legally required to collect and register for all guests of licensed accommodations under Greek law.

When you browse this website: technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7).

We do not knowingly collect data from children; any details concerning minors travelling with you are provided by their parent or guardian.

 

3. Why We Use Your Data (Purposes & Legal Bases)

  • To respond to enquiries and booking requests necessary to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • To manage your reservation and stay performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • To meet legal obligations guest registration, tax and accounting requirements (Art. 6(1)(c)).
  • To communicate with you before, during and after your stay legitimate interest in providing attentive hospitality (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • To send occasional news or offers only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. 
  • To operate and improve this website  legitimate interest, and consent where required for non-essential cookies.
 

4. Who We Share Your Data With

We never sell your personal data. It is shared only where necessary with:

  • Service providers who help us operate: website hosting, email services, our booking/enquiry form provider all bound by data processing agreements.
  • Public authorities, where required by Greek law (e.g. guest registration, tax authorities).
  • Professional advisers (accountant, legal counsel) where necessary.

Where any provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (e.g. EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

 

5. How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to [12/24] months, then deleted.
  • Reservation and billing records: for as long as required by Greek tax and accounting law (generally [5] years).
  • Marketing consents: until you withdraw consent.
  • Website analytics data: according to the retention settings of our analytics provider 24 months
 

6. Your Rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”), where applicable
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Portability receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent

To exercise any of these rights, contact us. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr).
